Review for 3 Generations, New York, NY, USA

Rating: 5 stars

As a former employee, I say without a doubt that 3 Generations is a nonprofit like any other. 3G is truly a hybrid organization. Jane puts the people and their stories at the center of the work. Unlike many, 3G puts the focus on the film subjects and their truths, and not how someone else would like to tell or view the story. Not only then does 3G raises awareness around social issues, especially ones that are brushed aside, but it also serves as a place of healing for the subjects themselves. And this sentiment doesn't go away once filming is over; if anything, it only increases. 3G maintains relationships with all of its subjects and asks how to better help them in raising awareness. In addition to its role as an advocacy organization, 3G makes films that tell beautiful, balanced, and passionate stories. I cannot rave enough!

Review for 3 Generations, New York, NY, USA

I've known 3G and its staff for a year now and it was one of the most, if not the most, hard working group of people out there. It's a tight knit group of people whose mission really is to give the marginalized people out there a voice. Not only is everyone always working to further that goal, but everyone is truly passionate about it; it comes out in the films and video testimonies. Everything that comes out of 3G really works to illuminate the circumstances of issues and people that are often forgotten in the U.S. While people often talk about the generalities of poverty or genocide, 3G shows you those very people it affects and gives these stories a face.
