Our company, Rocket21, has been a sponsor and donor to West Coast Songwriters Association for the better part of a decade. We have collaborated on scholarship programs to identify deserving youth songwriters and musicians for invitation to the WCS Annual Conference (for education, networking, and real-world experience); we've co-developed songwriting competitions and performance showcases specifically designed for youth and teens; and we've designed programs to pair youth songwriters with industry pros for VIP invitations to The Grammys. And that's only the beginning. In each scenario, the WCS team (and professional network) has delivered experiences and opportunities that far exceeded the expectations of participating youth and their families. And in every case, the aspiriring young songwriters and performers walked away inspired, feeling truly welcomed and empowered as a contributing member of a dynamic professional community, and with valuable insights about navigating the music industry in "real life."
