I have been a donor and a sponsor for FOHO for almost 3 years now, and because of this, one of their kids is actually able to go to school, eat every day and have a safe life away from the dangers of the streets where she would end up otherwise. Because of $2 a day I decided I could spare to save a life in Haiti, she sleeps in a safely built dorm with other girls her age, in an actual bed, rather than a makeshift tent in some corner of Haiti where she can be attacked, abused and left exposed to the elements.

Your morning coffe costs probably more than that. That dress you never wear in your closet or those tools in the garage you didn't really need cost probably the equivalent a few months of food and a pair of shoes for one of the kids there, or it could pay for a month of salary of one of the orphanage teachers, who often go unpaid but keep going, for sake of the kids.
