AWRC is established since 1989, and currently serves Afghan women and children in Kabul, Parwan, Kapisa, Laghman and Ningarhar Provinces of Afghanistan, and Peshawar (capital city of North West Frontier Province) Pakistan. Thousands of women and children have been benefiting from its service every year through its 4 sectors i.e. (1) Community Mobilization & Advocacy, (2) Education, (3) Community Empowerment (Agriculture & Livelihood), (4) Supporting Civil Society Organizations. AWRC contributes in building/enhancing the capabilities of 20 Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and individuals in 4 provinces in eastern region through IPACS project funded by Counterpart International since 2005 through: • Conducting trainings on wide-ranging topics including but not limited to management, development, proposal writing, community participation, leadership, gender and development and advocacy • Offering consultation and technical assistance on project design, proposal writing, appreciative community appraisal, advocacy and gender mainstreaming to target Civil Society Organizations (CSOs). • Providing information and communication facilities through Resource Center • Coordinating and networking with other actors in the region.
