Review for Counterpart International, Inc., Arlington, VA, USA
I’m Suraya Parlika managing director of All Afghan Women Union (AAWU), a local women organization and a grantee of Counterpart International in Afghanistan. AAWU is working as Civil Society Organization (CSO) in all Afghanistan with financial and technical support of Counterpart International and other international donors. AAWU has conducted a series of capacity building training and human Rights awareness and Advocacy workshops in 6 different location of Afghanistan with fully support of Counterpart International. Training workshops on Human Rights awareness and advocacy that were held in each center helped men and women to gather and learn about the rights of women and children. Local authorities, local social activists and local community elders underwent a great deal of cooperation among each other. On the base of our assessment from local school teachers who had participated in our training workshops, it became precise that an encouraging percentage of girls who were restrained of going to school were once again allowed to rejoin local school as a result of our efforts and we can proudly say that Counterpart International made it possible.
