Review for The Fallen & Wounded Soldiers Fund Inc, Canton, MI, USA

Rating: 5 stars

We cannot begin to show our appreciation for The Fallen And Wounded Soldier Fund!
My husband was injured in Afghanistan in 2009. He suffered a fall resulting in a TBI, PTSD and back injury. He was medically separated in 2014; 3 years shy of his full retirement.
My husband suffers from long and short term memory loss and he requires care intermittently.
I am a full time nurse also taking care of veterans.
This past year has been a struggle for us as his care has increased, his main care is at a medical center 3 hours away. I have been on FMLA since June for his recent back surgery requiring me to be home full time and the loss of my income.
This has a placed a huge burden on us financially and I was at a loss of what to do.
We became late on bills, shut off notices, etc.
I called for help at our local VA and I was given many resources. These resources however, did not give me the help we needed.. lengthy applications, copies of everything and very time consuming.
I called The VA in Lansing and was given another list of resources. The first one I called was The Fallen Wounded Soldier Fund and was called back almost immediately.
The process was seamless and personal. We were able to get caught up and all with just a few documents and easy access from our local library to get the information to this non profit organization.
We cannot begin to even say how helpful and swift our burdens became almost elimated by the ease and care from this organization.
We will forever be greatful and blessed to have organizations that are willing to help perfect strangers for the sake of those that gave so much to our country.
Thank-you is just never enough when your prayers have been answered.
