Eclectuslady
Review for Oasis Sanctuary Foundation, Ltd., Benson, AZ, USA
I knew about the Oasis from my birds vets office (Dr. Driggers) and thought that's cool. Never imagined I would need their help but one day I found myself in a situation and I didn't know where to turn for help. I read a story about animals being taken care of when people lose their housing. This was a temporary fix till owners got back on their feet and this way people would not have to give up these family members. After contacting the Oasis I was put in touch with a person who was herself a bird lover. She drove all the way to my home from the Oasis (which is a very long haul), I live in Mesa. She took all four of my birds & their cages & told me not to worry about a thing. Within a month my housing situation had resolved itself but I had a stroke. This beautiful young lady took care of my four Eclectus' for almost a year !! Before my stroke I traveled down to the Oasis to volunteer for a weekend and was truly amazed !! The love & care each of these birds receive is so unbelievable and the people who care for them are well, amazing !! I will never forget what they have done for me & my little ones, without them I more than likely would have had to give up my babies. Just this past February after 27 years my little "Ruby" passed and the Oasis has a fabulous way to remember her. They have beautiful flowers made by a talented artist that I believe are arranged around a Rainbow Garden and you can have them engraved with your birds information. Yes you have to make a donation but what a better way to remember a member of your flock !! The Oasis birds benefit & your loved one will always be remembered. The Oasis is always looking for volunteers and what a great cause, this is these birds "forever home". I could think of no better way to spend some free time or a vacation. Thank you to all the Oasis workers & volunteers for establishing such a sanctuary for these beautiful birds!!! And thank you to Ruth Ann and Jean for everything for without your love & guidance I would probably be flockless right now.
