I am a resident of the Rossmoor Community in Walnut Creek, CA.

Our Diversity Consciousness group recently hosted Rev. Will McGarvey from the Interfaith Council of Contra Costa County for his presentation and workshop on Nonviolent Communication. We were very interested in his segment on intervention in tense situations involving harassing behavior and hate speech. We had an immense turnout and a very receptive and appreciative audience, who were unanimous in their praise of the timeliness and rich content of this excellent presentation, especially the hands-on exercises on the intervention process itself.

The Interfaith Council of Contra Costa County should be recognized for its outstanding leadership in community outreach and enrichment of diversity at a time in our world when people are becoming increasingly isolated, polarized, and victimized by negative messages.
