Review for HUMANE SOCIETY OF HURON VALLEY, Ann Arbor, MI, USA
We just recently moved in our first home and our kids wanted to get out first dog. We had looked at several animal rescue organizations. We had our home inspected by two rescues. Had several family interviews and was approved by those it organizations. We had spent countless weekends going to adoption events but never found the correct fit for our family. We were not looking for any specific breed or qualification for our new family member, just a loving dog that was good with younger children and could get along with one 16 year old senior cat. One weekend we had visited a different animal shelter and came up empty handed. Feeling lost my husband searched and found huron valley who had just received animals from Alabama via the "love train". At the time we were an hour away. Knowing we would be close to closeing once we got there, we still pushed forward. When we got there the staff was not only understanding but friendly, even though we were close to the end of their day. They let my family go and look around. We fell in love with a 4 month old lab mix. That is not only great with our kids but good with our senior cat. Even after driving an hour away from our home, I will only go to Huron Valley the next time we add a new family member to our house hold.
