I love HSHV! The staff are so kind, and they work so hard to make sure that you go home with the right animal companion. Our most recent adoption from them was Pangur Ban, a beautiful white cat who had been rescued from a cruel situation. The staff at HSHV had already put months into his re-socialization, and as we went through the adoption process they made sure we knew they were there to help us get our new friend adjusted. Other shelters might have given up on this terrified animal, but HSHV doesn't just care for the "easy" ones (like our tabby, Minnie). Now we have a sweet snuggler and playmate for our first cat. We now live near Flint, but I would never dream of going anywhere other than HSHV the next time we're looking for a new pet.
