I would like to applaud and salute the men and youth who volunteered their time to provide community service in and around San Pedro. One morning I woke up and saw 5 bright yellow Beacon House shirts working hard on cleaning the shrub, weeds and trash at the end of our culde sac street. When I approached them to find out who they were I was surprised to learn about what the Beacon House was and the type of services they provide. They all seem very happy and committed to leave our street as clean as possible. They stayed over 5 hours to do a FANTASTIC job! May I say that day's temperature was close to 90 degrees!! What a tremendous privilege, honor and opportunity to meet these fine men and learn about the Beacon House! I want to thank and wish the organization continued success and hope the men seeking guidance and support through the BH find it rewarding to know their services are meaningful and appreciated! My 5 year old son got his first taste of what community service is all about! Thank you!
