Review for Yellow Ribbon Fund Inc, Bethesda, MD, USA
Yellow Ribbon Fund took the covid crisis as an opportunity to find creative ways to reach out and engage caregivers in new creative ways. From brunchs to craft events, it has been hard to feel lonely! Always offering support and services. Family bingo is our favorite. Something to look forward to and break up the mundane of day to day during this pandemic. Previous to the pandemic it was nice to connect with caregivers in person. Moving to Florida and than back to Virginia, it was awesome to find a tribe quickly of people who just "get it." So thankful for YRF!
Review for Operation Second Chance Inc, Germantown, MD, USA
My husband suffers from severe PTSD, depression and anxiety from his deployment. He was inpatient for treatment and upon discharge he was connected with Hero's on the Water non profit. He found such peace on being on the water we went ahead, bit the bullet and purchased him his very own kayak so he could go more frequently during the weeks to clear his head. During the 4th of July weekend our kayak car carrier broke during transport and the kayak took off down the highway and sustained some pretty extensive damage. My husband was crushed. We couldn't afford to replace the kayak we had just purchased only a month and a half prior. So I reached out to Operation Second Chance and they are replacing his kayak! I am so thankful this organization stepped in. Hes been making some really great progress with his therapy kayak group and independently I would hate to back track. Thank you OSC so much!
