Review for The Fallen & Wounded Soldiers Fund Inc, Canton, MI, USA
Well, I am a medically retired/ Permanently disabled U.S Army Veteran. I have served three combat tours in Iraq, and numerous missions to the continent of Africa. I had almost 16 years in before the injuries I had sustained from an I.E.D, rendered me no longer useful to my U.S. Army. It's been a difficult transition, a transition I still haven't succeeded in. With financial woes starting to get the best of me, and my vehicle continuously getting worse. I had no clue what I was going to do. I don't have the financial means to fix my vehicle, and no family that could help or loan me the money to correct the problem. So, I started to surf the web through my phone and came up on the website, which is and was a Godsend! The Fallen and Wounded Soldier Fund website. I am not a soldier who likes to ask for help but what could I do in this situation? So, I called the phone number and spoke with Dr. Lynn Phillips , executive director of the Fallen and Wounded Soldier Fund (FWSF). She was understanding and caring. The shame I was feeling for having to swallow my pride and ask for assistance quickly dissipated as she spoke to me and put me at ease with my situation. I can tell you that Dr. Lynn Phillips, the Board Members and all the local businesses and volunteers that help and donate to the foundation are kind and generous people. They gave me the financial assistance to fix my vehicle, they handed me a life line right when I needed it the most. I honestly can't begin to express how appreciative I feel and how grateful I am to and for the FWSF. Thank you and I pray that our Lord may continue to bless the FWSF and help my brothers and sisters in-arms who come to seek assistance from the FWSF.
Respectfully,
Alex
