I first became involved with PawsNE in Sept 2014 after I attended a fundraising event for them and met 2 wonderful volunteers. Before the night was over, I applied for a senior dog who needed a loving home. I was not chosen to adopt this dog and that was the right decision on the coordinators part. I could not provide what that dog needed at the time. But immediately I immersed myself in volunteering for this organization and I began transporting. My first transport was for Snip Snip a dog being fostered by the Co-founder J. Hutchinson. I knew that I wanted to more for this organization because everyone I came in contact with was all about the dogs. I was trained as an Adoption Coordinator and have been doing this for 2.5 years. It is the greatest thing I have done in my life! I love helping to find forever homes for these dogs that were at one time, unwanted, neglected and at risk of being euthanized! I have so met so many great people working with PawsNE and I have joined close to 200 pups with new families that will give them everything they need and more! It truly is very rewarding working with an organization who truly cares about these dogs. I work full time, have 7 pets of my own and dedicate many hours to these dogs. The only payment I get is the smile on a dogs face when they get the BEST home!
