Review for Counterpart International, Inc., Arlington, VA, USA
I’m Arezo Qanih working as Program Manager at ECW, a local women organization and a grantee of Counterpart International in Afghanistan since 2005. ECW is working as Civil Society Support Center (CSSC) in northeast zone of Afghanistan with financial and technical support of Counterpart International since 2005. The ECW team has participated to a series of capacity building training workshops and then they were able to conduct the same capacity building training workshops to other 20 local CSOs in northeast provinces. The partnership with counterpart, supported ECW in two main areas 1] staff capacity building and 2] System development or Organizational Development. ECW developed its systems e.g. strategy paper, HR, Admin and financial policies with technical and financial support of Counterpart during their partnership. Through developing the systems ECW expanded its activities on 5 main sectors of 1] Advocayc – Rights Awareness, 2] Peace Building, 3] Capacity Building 4] Education – non-formal and civic education and 5] Vocational Section. Since then the ECW activities is also expanded to other provinces and now this organization is active in 11 provinces of Afghanistan.
