I was fortunate to grow up in a family that could afford to put braces on my teeth-otherwise I would have been ridiculed through my childhood and adult life if my teeth had not been corrected. My heart goes out to people born with cleft palates. SMILE TRAIN is such a worthy cause. Imagine the lifetime of bullying that people would go through if they had to live with cleft palates. Imagine the doors that would never open for them, the relationships that they wouldn't have. Our contributions to SMILE TRAIN enable the wonderful doctors, who donate their abilities at very low to no cost, to change the lives of people with cleft palates for the rest of their lives.
