I am thrilled to write a review for Support Connection! I have worked with this wonderful organization since 2001 and that relationship has been life changing for me and many others. Just this year my dear friend Deb was diagnosed with breast cancer and is undergoing treatment. As they always are, Support Connection was there for her to listen, share and give great education so she could make the decisions that were best for her. My friend, Maria Rubino was the program director at Support Connection for many years before she died in 2009 from stage 4 breast cancer. I think Maria's legacy is the personal touch that each of the counselors provides to every woman who calls and to their families as well. I was given the first Spirit of Caring Award set up in Maria's name but the real spirit of caring is embodied in every volunteer and paid employee of this great organization. In my own quest to help, I'll be donating proceeds from my latest book to Support Connection, hoping to spread the word to more people about the great work they do. The book is a fable for working women about choices and empowerment - a perfect fit with one of the most empowering organizations I know. I truly believe I have been privileged to have worked with so many wonderful people and been a small part of the caring and much-needed work they do.
