I volunteered for the Adult for a Day program through the Center for Smart Financial Choices at Walkertown High School recently, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I feel I got back much more from the experience than I gave. I’ve been in the financial service industry for 17 years, and I’ve rarely had the opportunity to provide education on topics such as budgeting, credit, and homeowners/renters insurance. It was rewarding to witness high school students grasp financial topics, while applying them to real world situations. I will continue to volunteer for additional opportunities with the Center for Smart Financial Choices as they arise.
