Hello everyone,
We at the Atkinson Primary School have been benefiting immensely over the past years from Hands Across The sea. They make large donations of books and library supplies to improve child literacy at our school.
The students always look forward to their visit to the library to do research and to read for fun. Most of the Science books that were sent assist the students to complete research and projects on topics such as the digestive system, magnetism, heat, light etc. Students are more enthusiastic about reading and the importance of books to their education.
Some of the books received in November of 2015 include; Its Alive (10), Myths and Legends (6), Dinosaurs (2), Games,Sports and Festivals(2), The Respiratory System ( 2), Books on Bullying, Earth, Technology, Light, Force and Motion, Heat, Sound, Magnetism, Cells and Organ Systems, Inventions, Stronger Faster Better (4).
I would to say thank you on behalf of the staff and students of my school for the donations of books and other supplies which you continue to make. Thank you for the support and we look forward to a continued collaboration in our efforts to raise child literacy levels at our school.
