Review for The Roberto Clemente Health Clinic, Baltimore, MD, USA
I have had a great time volunteering at the Roberto Clemente clinic. The staff here were all very friendly and welcoming and eager to ensure we had a great experience while we were here. The volunteer coordinator, Ronnie, always did his best to ensure we all had something to do while we were here, whether it was wandering through the communities with local nurses giving out immunizations, working at the public health clinic, creating posters and presenting them to schools to help teach about nutrition and safe water. We also participated in helping with other volunteer organizations to organize products for malnutrition programs - bagging and boxing hundreds of pounds of beans and rice and formula products was strangely satisfying. There is also a wonderful garden initiative we got to help with - learning and teaching local people to create their own gardens for enhanced available nutrition.
Getting to know this group of people as well as the community was a great experience and I would recommend any international volunteers hopping on this opportunity!
