Review for St Francis Animal Protection Society, Campbell, CA, USA
A really nice organization that tries their hardest to not only help homeless pets find homes, but to help pets by helping people that own them. Owner support + keeping pets out of our local shelters in the first place ranks pretty high on their list of to-dos. The folks the run the organization are not in this business for the glory, but truly want to make this world a better place.
Here's why I keep coming back to St. Francis Animal Protection Society as a volunteer and foster parent:
1) They treat pets with great care ensuing they receive medical and training care.
2) They set foster homes up with all supplies and are an easy phone call/email away to field any questions or concerns. Very supportive.
3) They treat people (pet owners, volunteers, and fosters) how they themselves want to be treated - with kindness, respect, and gratitude.
4) They are an equal opportunity organization - meaning they take in pits, chis, seniors, black cats and medically/behaviorally challenged animals into their foster care program. If they think their program can help a particular animal, they'll find a way to make it happen.
5) They are not shy to ask for help - they'll contact experts for advice and implement a plan to help get a pet ready for adoption.
6) They are happy to collaborate with other organizations - fundraisers, networking an animal, sharing resources. They believe in the power of a community coming together for the greater good.
7) It's often hard work, but this organization is not afraid to have fun! We meet up and toast a beer to celebrate a success and to wind down.
So if you're looking for a nice group to volunteer for take a peek at St. Francis Animal Protection Society....
