I discovered 'Pathways to Volunteering' through the organizer, Craig. I had volunteered for some of his events in the past before the inception of this organization, and was enthralled with his devotion and passion. Being a transplant from Maryland, I had very few connections and wanted to involve myself in the community. Craig's mission and goals aligned with mine--giving a helping hand to those less fortunate. I was going through a difficult time in my life, but by donating my time and heart in this selfless act, it gave me a sense of purpose and happiness. Knowing that a simple gesture can make a difference in someone else's life can really boost your morale. From serving food and entertaining veterans during the holidays (this can be a peak time of loneliness for those without families), to playing games and chaperoning children of poverty and abuse, there is no volunteering opportunity you can't find with Pathways to Volunteering to meet what you're looking for. I highly recommend this organization to anyone looking to give back and put a smile on someone's face. You'll be glad you did it.
