We had applied at other rescues in the same day because we have a 15 year old dog and a 4 year old dog. Knowing the 15 year old isn't as active as she once was, the 4 year old needed a playful companion. We looked at three dogs on three different rescue websites, but Richardson Rescue was the first to respond to us, and the dog they had was one we really wanted to meet.

We set up a meeting with the dog today, and asked if we could bring our two dogs with us to see if they got along. They had absolutely no issue with that. In fact, after a while we stepped out of the building and they allowed that to see how the dogs acted alone. It was fine with them. They were very nice people there and they knew a lot about the dog. They seemed to really care about animals and the one we adopted in particular as they asked a couple times for us to email them about her and to please send pictures.

The only downfall of the rescue is that you need to definitely follow the directions on their website. For about a mile there is a gravel road, and do drive slow as there are some holes in the road. Other than that it was smooth sailing and all the animals at the rescue seem to be very well taken care of. I would recommend this rescue to anybody wanting a new edition to their home. We adopted Dixie today, a 2 year old dachshund/cocker spaniel mix, and she seems to be adjusting just fine already and we got her this morning and it's now evening. Highly recommend this rescue!!!
