Review for Blind Cat Rescue & Sanctuary Inc, St. Pauls, NC, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Look, I am biased toward all good rescues. So, my review of nearly any outfit will be laudatory, but today I am taking time to highlight this one particular Cat Rescue, who is head and shoulders above the rest of us animal lovers and rescuers.

What is Blind Cat Rescue? What they are not is a group trying to pull your heartstrings to collect money. Their cats alone do that. BCR is also not just a regular rescue organization. By their very choice of who to support they speak silently of a high moral concern - caring for the most vulnerable and unseen discards. Who would even think of blind cats, and their plight? With uncommon forethought BCR chooses to help those who would otherwise be ignored, abused, and routinely euthanized by people of smaller minds.

It takes courage to advocate for the unseen and most needy of any group. And, you need grit to launch and maintain such an effort. It takes far more than presenting a sad story to help these wonderful felines. Commitment, stubborn force, great heart, and lack of pity are the tools required to make a difference in this case.

I routinely read their newsletter not to evoke a tear or gain a feeling of comfort by the success stories there. I read their stuff to help keep me focused on what it takes to do my bidding, in what small way I can to make a difference with the strays that cross my path. If BCR can accomplish so many goals, then who am I to fret about not having time or money or energy to make that one stop along the commute, or take the one extra Saturday for TNR, or any of the myriad little things that make a small life just a little better.

By their example I am always reminded of this wonderful quote. 'By your effort you many not change the world, but you will change the entire world for that one animal.' One person can and often does make all the difference. So, I applaud Blind Cat Rescue not just for their efforts, but for showing us all that putting one foot in front of the next can accomplish magical things.

Blind Cat Rescue is magic. I love them. "No brag, just fact." (Marion Morrison)
