The VFW National Home for Children is a beautiful setting for military families to receive assistance with a place to live while learning to make a new start on life when life has failed them in some way. The staff are professional trained to lead the families back to independence and success. The children learn responsibility through projects like animal husbandry in addition to getting an education in the local schools. Parents either attend college or receive job training. They attend classes on the campus for parenting skills, financial advice, etc. to help them prepare for a successful and fulfilling life after leaving the campus.
