They are so many heartlifting stories about Lollypop Farm and all the good they do. Just watch the Tails of Hope Telethon and you will see! An area that is near and dear to my heart is animal cruelty investigations. Headed by Reno DiDomenico, this team is amazing. They not only investigate animal cruelty matters, but also educate pet owners on their responsibilities and how to properly care for their pets. I feel they have a very difficult position because when acting on a cruelty call, they have to follow the letters of the law. This may sound simple, however what appears to be a slam dunk cruelty case, may not fall under the guidelines of the Agricultural and Martkets Act. Sometimes this does not result in an arrest, the person making the complaint is frustrated and the cruelty investigator's hands are tied. To me it's an extremely difficult job, but these investigators are the best of best. If we have to deal with animal cruelty in our community, I am thankful we have Reno and his team involved.
