I have had budgie companions for most of the past 40 years, but for the past seven years they have all been adoptions from Mickaboo. I'm also a remote volunteer (in Los Angeles) who handles things that don't require my physical presence -- website-related tasks, telephone interviews of prospective adoptive parronts (parrot parents) and the like -- freeing up volunteer resources in the Bay Area for other important tasks.

Mickaboo is not only a non-profit, it is a family. We don't just facilitate companion birds finding good forever homes, we share stories with each other about our own little feathered kids. We help people when birds inadvertently end up lost in the great outdoors. And we have likely saved the lives of thousands of abandoned birds who might either have been euthanized or become a predator's lunch.

We care. That's what truly qualifies us to do this important work.
