Coastal Pet Rescue is a wonderful nonprofit organization that saves the lives of homeless, abandoned, and abused pets in the Savannah, GA area and surrounding counties. I have never met a more dedicated group of people than those who give their time and money to improve the lives of these animals in need. I had been aware of CPR's great work in the community for several years and had donated, but until I retired, I didn't feel that I had the time get personally involved. How I wish I had started volunteering sooner! The looks on the faces of these sweet cats and dogs melt my heart. To see a frightened, confused pet begin to trust again and to gradually open up and become joyful and affectionate again makes all the efforts worthwhile. And when the right person chooses one of our "babies" and takes them to their forever home, we all shed tears of joy. CPR is truly making a difference in our community!
