For the last seven years I have volunteered with both resume writing and small group book discussions, honored to be working with some of the most dedicated and caring people I have ever met. These employees, who themselves have overcome major challenges, are so giving that they volunteer themselves in their scarce extra time at their churches or with children's sports games to help others. Baker supports the concept that humanity depends upon being aware of and helping others, a concept we dearly need in these times.

As a volunteer helping employees first with resumes and now with a small “book club,” I’ve had a chance to see what the affirming environment of Baker can mean to people: not only are they getting the financial and emotional benefit of valuable work, but also they are thriving as part of a community that values their enthusiasm, intelligence, insightfulness, and compassion for others. Baker is an important contributor to the better world we would like.

I volunteer helping Baker employees move on to new jobs. These individuals are some of the most earnest, industrious, and compassionate people I have ever met. Would that our "real world" workplaces had more employees like these, not only as workers but as those running the company!
