My first visit to Black Pines Animal Sanctuary was July 2016. We were vacationing nearby and decided to take grandchildren to see the animals. I had very little knowledge of animal sancutary philosophy and how they operated. As many people do, I thought of them as a different type of zoo. But with the help of a very knowledgeable and outgoing guide, I learned about the difference a place like Black Pines Animal Sanctuary makes in an animal's life. I instantly fell in love with the philosophy and BPAS. I have continued to visit BPAS and to support their nonprofit organization.
