My son recently was discharged from the Marine Corp and came home. He has had night terrors and PTSD. I know Annie on a personal level and have worked with MDAR for several years as a volunteer and board member. When we moved away I stayed in contact with her. In November I was telling her about my son. Then we started talking about this new rescue Lily that was caught in the fires in the high desert. I gave her my son's information, she did a complete evaluation and got back to me on the dog. I talked with my son and he agreed to try out a rescue dog. In December we received Lily into our home. There was an instant connection between Lily and my son. The more he worked with her, took her every where, and socialized her, she started opening up out of her shell. She longer requires her kennel for a safe space. She loves to be around people now. She is now a registered working animal nationally and works with the Vets at the local College and their club to welcome new Vets to the club and on campus. She continues to do amazing things all the time, that we never thought possible. I have helped Annie place several animals in homes that are now doing amazing things with their humans. My son has stopped with the night terrors although his PTSD is still present, he now has a different focus and that is for him and Lily to help others in need that are in his situation. Thank You MDAR and Annie for all that you have done to help another rescued animal find a loving home to help a human and for a human to help a rescued animal. Lovingly grateful, Another Military Mom
