I was first made aware of Labrador Rescuers from my neighbor, Betty, an active member of the organization and a devoted foster to dozens of dogs including several recovering from surgery and previous neglect. I have seen first hand the dedication of Betty and other members of this wonderful organization. They care deeply for the dogs, nursing them back to health and making certain that they find homes that are a good fit both for the dogs and for their human families.

Five years ago, in January,2012, my husband and I adopted our dog, Lucy, (formerly Dancer) from Lab Rescuers. We first saw her online at the LR site and visited her at the home of her foster, Chuck, who provided details about her personality and background. Chuck later brought her to our home to be sure that she and our other dog, Penny, would get along. That meeting went well and we adopted Lucy that very day. Sadly, Penny passed away last year, but Lucy, now six years old, continues to bring us happiness every day. She enjoys her daily walks and visits to dog park, is kind and gentle with our five young grandchildren, loves bringing in the newspapers from our driveway, and is my constant companion; she is always by my side. I thank the Labrador Rescuers organization for saving her life and for making mine even brighter because of her.
