Review for Special Horses, St. Louis, MO, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have had the priviledge of helping Special Horses share their fund raising posts for a couple of years now. This is one of the best non-profit groups dedicated to the welfare of rescue horses and horse owners often in difficult or impossible situations. Screening rescues to weed out the good ones from the nefarious rescues, running fund raiser after fund raiser to help these rescues do the very necessary work they do to rescue, rehabilitate, retrain and rehome horses is desperate need, running a haybank to connect needy owners with hay farmers who have hay to spare, Wendy Neckamyer does the impossible again and again. This has truly been an honor to watch and participate in, in the very small way I can even begin to help. It has been an honor and priviledge to heklp you, Wendy.

I have worked with Stolen Horse International for several years. It is a great non-profit whose volunteers work hard day in and day out to reunite owners with their lost, stolen or missing horses. They need volunteers and donations to allow them to continue their great work. Please help a great organization survive and thrive.

I have known the founder of Special Horses, Wendi Neckameyer for many years. A woman of high professional accomplishment and solid integrity, Wendi developed Special Horses to be a central hub for raising awareness and funds for equine organizations that rescue and rehabilitate rescued, abused and abandoned horses. The charities which rely upon her assistance are all 501(c)(3) rescue organizations which which are thoroughly vetted before they are allowed to register with Special Horses for funding assistance. Fundraising drives include seasonal auctions, art auctions, hay bank funding drives and mini-donation drives for equine rescues in deep need. Community outreach is a cornerstone of her very successful and most necessary program. This non-profit is one that does it's homework in vetting and registering deserving horse rescues , and works tirelessly to help them do their work in the face of a seemingly endless sea of horses in desperate straits. A donation to this group is one that goes to those in real need.

I have been a volunteer with this organization for a year and half now, and it has been a great place to work! The people are kind, friendly, there are a variety of volunteer opportunities depending on your skill set, and you have a real opportunity to help make a difference in someone's life by helping to reunite them with their beloved animals. I'm so glad I volunteer with this organization! The people are great!
