Almost a year ago, I was at out community center and this little dog kept bouncing around and wanting in the car. You could tell he was malnourished. He was starving. I had part of a morning biscuit with me and offered him a bite. It was then that you could see (other than the living on the street), the bigger issue. His jaw was lopsided and he had missing teeth. He wanted to come with me, and not seeing any potential owner in sight, I brought him home. I knew it had to be temporary though.
First, my husband checked the neighborhood and found out he was indeed a stray whom they had been feeding dry dog food (which He couldn't eat because of his jaw. He gave it a heck of a try. I called my future daughter in law and she contacted her friend Jessica White. Jessica agreed to take him. Jessica had kept this dog happy and alive for a year. He is nownbeing spoon fed because his jaw has gotten worse. (Even with the best medical care he has access to).
This is just one dog, Scrappy-Jessica does this everyday-multiple times a day! She works, is pregnant and runs the rescue. She makes several visits to her rescues who are in the hospital to check on them and for them to know they are not alone.
