ICNA Relief made it possible for my goal of assisting Syrian refugee families a reality. Through their interfaith tutoring opportunities, my husband and I are working with middle and high school students who are new English speakers and just learning to navigate the American school system. I get to bring my years of experience as an English teacher and ELL Coordinator to help these families. ICNA relief also made it possible for two coworkers of mine to tutor; for my friend who is throwing a birthday party for her daughter to use ICNA Relief's registry to gift to Syrian children; for my friend who runs a NYC Tour agency to launch a project wherein she will acclimate Syrian families to NYC. In short, ICNA Relief builds bridges! I would like to especially thank Umber Siddiqi and Leila Elfane for their tireless efforts on behalf of refugee families. They are angels!
