Embassy of Hope makes me smile. It’s where the Lord called me in 2013 to pray. It’s where He led me still the next year to write. Now it’s where I volunteer through education and advocacy. Such precious women enter our doors, each with a heart that has been hurt through some form of abuse or exploitation. Legal labels don’t tell their whole story. Whether domestic violence, prostitution, human trafficking, or something different, each woman has her own trauma and heartache. Each now navigates life in a new way, managing children, housing, transportation, job, medical appointments, case workers, court dates, and the list goes on. Finding peace within the storm can seem a distant reality. Yet it is there along that path that I am blessed to serve with Embassy of Hope. To offer our availability as the hands and feet of Christ is to provide tangible means for Him to restore individuals and families. Embassy’s relationships with law enforcement, courts, and related agencies are key in connecting with victims to help them find healing. Our support groups educate women toward healthy relationships and guide them toward spiritual strength for daily life, in turn aiding their mental, emotional, and physical stability overall.
