I know this organization does important work, and I am grateful for it. However, I made a donation over the holidays in honor of a friend of mine, and despite numerous requests, she has not been notified of this gift. I am repeatedly assured that she has been notified, and I ask for a copy of the acknowledgement letter. Nothing arrives. Now they have stopped answering my emails ('m sure they are tired of hearing from me.) So I would say absolutely support their important work. But if you are looking to make a gift in the name of someone else, and you want notification sent, this might not be the foundation to choose.
