Review for Women's eNews, New York, NY, USA

Rating: 4 stars

Women's eNews cares - about women, and not just white feminists - but African-Americans, Arab women, Muslim women around the world. They used to print an edition in Arabic until money woes following the stock crash forced that to fold, but they still do what they can. Editor in chief Rita Henley Jensen has worked tirelessly to develop a series of articles on why black women die more often in childbirth than white women - in America, not just in third world countries. She gets it about white feminists being remote from the worries of women of color and works hard to cross the divides of race and class.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Learning things about the links between infant mortality and race that I didn't know; I use it to research stories of concern to women around the globe - they publish stories others simply don't cover or haven't even heard of.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

Role:  Board Member & I provide guidance and support to women who care passionately about what's going on in the world with other women.

Just thought I would clarify-- we do still have an Arabic sister site - www.awomensenews.org which is updated regularly. This site, still using the old Women's eNews web design will be updated over the next year so it's as user friendly and accessible as the redesign of the English website. Thank you for your great review!
