I was unsure what to expect on my first visit to The Wild Animal Sanctuary. It was a warm October day and we were looking for something to do for the afternoon. We were pleasantly surprised by the information provided prior to entering the Sanctuary. The workers/volunteers are very knowledgable and happy to provide information about the care of the animals and the purpose of the sanctuary. It was a joy to see the animals in the open and know that they are cared for so well. Our trip was not at all like visiting the zoo. Keep that in mind. You should bring binoculars as the animals are free to roam all over their area which is very large. After just one trip, I now support the Sanctuary and plan to return again soon.
