Having worked with KDI on a number of projects, I'm confident in saying that both the organization and its employees are committed to improving communities through thoughtful community engagement and participatory design. The impact of this process is significant. I've been lucky to be involved in community workshops, led by KDI, which focused on listening to and communicating with residents. The process allowed residents of disadvantaged communities to feel empowered, and establish significant roles in the design process. KDI's process should influence both design thinking and practice at all levels.
