With only a few paid staff members, SNG achieves real results for traffic safety in Seattle. They do this with a strong network of neighborhood chapters, motivated volunteers, and effective advocacy with elected and appoint leaders. They've demonstrated results in their push for neighborhood greenways, protected bike lanes, and other technical safety improvements throughout the city. They have a focus on low-income and minority neighborhoods which face higher numbers of traffic fatalities and serious injuries, and they also aim to make walking and biking to school safe for every child. Seattle streets' ongoing transformations are a testament to the success of SNG.
