Review for Shadow Cats Rescue, Round Rock, TX, USA
I was told about Shadow Cats and their work by a friend of mine who is a vet med student. When I was adopted by a stray kitty in my neighborhood, Shadow Cats helped me understand that a positive test for Feline Lukemia in an otherwise healthy cat does NOT mean the cat should be "put to sleep." - it only means to keep an eye on kitty's health (as you should with any cat) and try to limit exposure to other cats unless they have been vaccinated against it.
I have yet to visit their facility; however my friend has told me it is one of the best cat sancturies she's ever seen (and she's seen many). My e-mail interactions with one of their volunteers was very positive and I ended up donating several hundred dollars of designer desk accessories and other goodies for their upcoming Holiday Market (and plan to donate more in the future as my finances allow).
It's refreshing to see a charity such as Shadow Cats that belives all cats deserve a long and happy life - even when other shelters are either unwilling or unable to help.
