GSSH is wonderful. Here's my story . . . Last summer (2015), my husband and I decided we were finally in the perfect position to create a loving home for a dog. We were ready to adopt. German Shepherds are my favorite dog, but my husband didn't have a preference. In fact, he had never owned a dog. I contacted another agency, which I won't name here. Our application was cleared, we passed the house inspection, and were set to meet the dog we had chosen. We were told she was available and ready for a forever home. I'm not sure what really happened, but we were told the person who was fostering her wasn't ready to give her up. I was so disappointed. I didn't understand why they had her picture on the website if she wasn't available. I thought fostering was temporary. After that, we contacted another agency, but they never responded. While I was waiting to meet the dog from the first agency, German Shepherd Safe Haven contacted me about a GSD named Ginger, but I let them know I was in line for another GSD. When I contacted GSSH about Ginger after our dreadful experience, I was happy she was still available. Our experience with GSSH was very professional and I can tell they really loved their dogs and wanted the very best for them. Ginger (1 1/2 year old) was timid at first, but we were given great instructions to allow her to make a smooth transition into our home. Everything was straight forward, which I truly appreciate. The adoption was finalized Aug 2015. I will always be grateful to GSSH. Scout (formally named Ginger) is the perfect dog for us and we are the perfect humans for her.
