I rescued my first stray dog (right off the street) about 8 years ago. Diva is her name. I ended up rescuing a 2nd dog, Frida (straight off the street I live) the following year. At the time, my single income household could meet the basic needs for my girls, food, shelter, snackies, squeeky toys, shots, etc... In 2014, unexpectedly, my Diva was diagnosed with heart-worm disease. I did not know what to do as the vet informed me of the process and expense involved. A round of very expensive treatments, for a total of 3 months. On my budget, even a standard vet visit had to be pre-planned a month or so before. I turned to the Cannoli Fund, desperate for help for my sweet mutt. It took a miracle and the Cannoli Fund to get my girl back on track. The Cannoli Fund took care of Diva's first visit. This enabled me to pre-plan for the remaining 2 treatments. In 2015,my Frida contracted a serious infection which required surgery. Again, Cannoli to the rescue. Words cannot express what the Cannoli Fund has meant to me and my household. My quality of life has been so enriched having my girls to accompany me in this earthly journey. Thank you, thank you, thank you...Cannoli Fund...I am blessed beyond words~
