My Nonprofit Reviews

My name is Stephanie and I have been addicted to crack cocaine for 20 years. I had never been in trouble with the law before the age of 36 and by the time I was 41, I had been arrested 13 times, sent to prison twice and was facing a third trip. I wrote to the Hope House and my judge and begged for help. The only thing that was going to change would be the date and time upon another release. The Hope House staff helped get me approved to be a resident and I can never thank them enough for saving my life and giving me another chance at how to learn to live life again. It was the HARDEST thing I have ever had to do, but the BEST. I have tools today that I didn't know were out there and I know how to be honest today and talk to people about where I am at on a daily basis. I have been sober for 3 years, with one short slip up, and my life has never been better. Because of the lessons the Hope House taught me, when I slipped, I knew where to go and who to turn to. I will forever be grateful to them and my Judge for believing in me one more time. Life is getting better day by day, one day at a time!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
GREAT detail since I was a resident. The program is not easy but worth every minute of it. I learned how to DEAL with situations today instead of running away from them.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Make sure they follow up more with the alumni upon release.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
My new fellowship and the new "bag of tools" i received.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
kind and loving
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
build more houses and help more women like me
Ways to make it better...
staff would set up a follow up system for alumni
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
financial assistance
One thing I'd also say is that...
I would recommend Hope House to any woman who is struggling and needs to learn to live life again.
