Review for Women's eNews, New York, NY, USA

Rating: 4 stars

I came across Women’s eNews mid-November. As if by divine intervention, I was face to face with a small non-profit organization dedicated to improving the media image of women through digital journalism. The daily stories covered by Women’s eNews are those that are often neglected in “big media” because they do not cater to an "interesting" demographic. Along with feminist driven issues, everyday stories are taken and given new perspective, illustrating its affect on women. Along with spreading the message through their website Women’s eNews hosts numerous events to help create awareness of both women’s struggles and accomplishments. Book signings, movie screening, history walks and information session are among the countless events hosted. Perhaps the most prominent and important event is the annual 21 Leaders for the 21st Century Gala each May. This gala honors twenty women and one man who have made a positive impact on the lives of women. This year was my first in attendance and I have never before felt so much energy and power in a room full of driven and accomplished individuals. Working with Women's eNews has been invaluable to me.It is rare to come across a group that, while small, is so motivated and dedicate to their cause. This organization has made leaps and bounds in the world of media shedding light on true issues and branching out into other countries and languages. Women's eNews has left no rock unturned when it comes to spreading their message and awareness as they continue to broadcast the word loud and clear.
