Review for Inheritance of Hope , Pisgah Forest, NC, USA
In January of 2014, my husband John was diagnosed with ALS. Eight months later, my family attended a legacy retreat. Our boys were 10 and 4 at the time, and we were all excited about going to Disney World as a family. We had no idea the lasting impact the Inheritance of Hope team would have on us and how they would teach us about being intentional and enjoying our time together as we faced such a life-changing and difficult disease.
We were immediately blown away by their kindness and attention to detail. From park tickets and airport pick ups to personal volunteers and date night childcare, and everything in between, someone thought of it and was taking care of it for us, so that we could focus on making precious memories with our family. And as the mom and caregiver, I can't tell you enough what a gift it was to not have to plan, troubleshoot, and work so hard for once. Not only that, but we were able to connect with other families facing similar trials, to share our stories and our hearts, and to become family.
Our faith was also reinforced by Inheritance of Hope as they presented the gospel of Jesus to families as the source of their hope and explained the importance of leaving a legacy of faith for our children. But they don't discriminate. They don't judge or force. They simply serve every family with hearts full of compassion, gentleness and love.
I will always be grateful for the memories we made, the friendships we formed and the lessons we learned during our Legacy Retreat. (I am sorry it took me so long to post my review, but I understand it to be better late than never.)
