After volunteering on the Rose Kennedy Greenway for the past 4 years, 2020 has been the most unique and challenging. The park has always been well used, but was it an invaluable resource for Boston residents during the pandemic restrictions and I was delighted when it was possible to return to scheduled volunteer projects. As always, the projects are well organized and I look forward to time each week with the staff and fellow volunteers – especially this year. I love watching the various areas of the Greenway change throughout the seasons – and it’s gratifying to see something you’ve planted become a permanent part of the landscape and enjoyed by so many.

I have so enjoyed my first year as a volunteer on the Rose Kennedy Greenway. The staff is extremely friendly and volunteer activities are very well organized. Since my last regular time spent in the area was in the midst of the Big Dig, it’s a real treat to see the Greenway becoming a treasured public space. I look forward to bringing visitors to the Greenway and take pride in the work that the committed, talented staff and volunteers do to keep it always welcoming and beautiful.
