Review for National Parks Conservation Association, Washington, DC, USA
Every time I visit a National Park I feel refueled! Growing up I took them, as many other natural wonders, for granted. I assumed people love nature as much as I do or as E.O. Wilson said "Nature holds the key to our aesthetic, intellectual, cognitive and even spiritual satisfaction."
As an adult I realized that is not necessarily the case, it takes a lot of effort to advocate for it. Knowing that NPCA is there to protect these treasures now and for generations to come is a great inspiration for me.
I am now living in California where John Muir once said "God has cared for these trees, saved them from drought, disease, avalanches, and a thousand tempests and floods. But he cannot save them from fools." Education, awareness and advocacy is what we need and joining NPCA I feel part of this effort.
