I have been a volunteer with The Dog Alliance for almost 10 years. I am currently visiting schools, events, nursing homes and a variety of other locations with my therapy dog, Gracie. Gracie is the second therapy dog I've visited with. She brings smiles wherever we go. The work we do with children helping them improve their reading skills is magical. The improvement I see in these children over the school year makes every minute we spend with them worth it. I so strongly support the work that The Dog Alliance does, that I have served on the Board of Directors for the past 3 years. Gracie and Murphy, my other dog, take a variety of training classes at The Dog Alliance. The staff of trainers on board there is second to none.

I've been a volunteer with Austin Dog Alliance since 2008. I've primarily volunteered as the human half of two pet therapy teams. It never ceases to amaze me what an impact these dogs have on everyone they meet. The training staff at ADA is awesome. There is such a wide variety of training classes offered, something for dogs of all ages and levels. I've also been involved in the Hounds for Heroes program for a little over a year. I'm now training my second potential service dog. The first dog I trained went to a veteran with PTS. It was such a heartwarming experience to see the joy he brought to his forever person. I'm really proud to be associated with such a wonderful organization.
